Date Completed: March 23, 2011
This was a project from Mel Bartholomew’s book “Square Foot Garden.”
It is made of 2 1″x6″x8′ cut in half into 4 equal sized boards. The weed matting is stapled to the bottom of the wood.
The soil mix is:
1/3 Compost
1/3 Peat Moss
1/3 Vermiculite
I planted green beans, corn, cherry tomatoes, and strawberries in this box.
The updated pic shows the garden roughly 2 months later as of May 2011. The far left are green beans, there is some lettuce planted in the center, and to the right are strawberry plants.
I added a cage made out of chicken wire to keep the pup and other animals out.
